The SF Chronicle just published a list of 25 top coffee shops in the SF Bay Area.

Looks like I'll have to check out Academic Coffee in San Jose some day.

Kind of a weird and badly researched story. No mention of the very terrific Pinhole Coffee in Bernal Heights, and leaving out what may be the best coffee joint in the bay area, Andytown makes this list very dubious. I know it's fashionable to dis Bluebottle, but they definitely belong on this list also.

I have some VIP's coming thru SF next month and I'm game-planning on the best recommendations for SF cafes. I'm pouring thru that list (thanks Yak) and elsewhere. Our cafes in the SF area don't blow me away, but I reserve hope.
