Why LIDO? We'll just let you puzzle over that for a while, but you KNOW there is a reason!

Yes, it is because lido means 'beach' in Italian. There is a 3rd grinder rattling around in Doug's mind. When it comes off the OE bench, it will be called a Son of a LIDO.

It would mean any shelf you stored the grinder on should be referred to as the 'lido deck'.

It would fit perfectly with some silicone cups and coffee drippers to take hiking, fishing or on a cruise. Is there going to be an OE travel pack with beach towels?

? It may just be me but it was a plan i had.
Infinitely capable of being completely wrong.

I note that you're careful to write it in all caps, which would indicate that it's an acronym. No obvious expansion leaps to mind, though.

Looking forward to it!

^^^ Not sure about that. I see PHAROS written in all caps in many places over on OE's site.

Still, it would be fun to make up an acronym. Let's see ... this is a do-over of a grinder that was an unintended espresso hound. How about Less Intense Do-Over?

or

Lido is where Doug and Barb want to retire when their grinder business takes off.

Ok, sure, I'll play along...

L - Less fines
I - Incredibly consistent coarse grind
D - Damn fun to crank
O - OMG
